CULTURE AND ARTS SERVICE
Mehmet Zeki Doğan's novel, "Topstalk," written in Edirne F-Type Prison between 2019 and 2024, was published by Telos Publications. The novel, with a narrative structure where concepts of time, place, and identity become ambiguous, unfolds through the search of a character who cannot remember who he is.
Doğan was arrested in 1997 and acquitted in October 2024 following a second retrial by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). Doğan published two books during his 27 years in prison and wrote three more, including "Topstaklak."
The novel was prepared in two handwritten copies. One of these copies was printed out, digitized, edited, and submitted to the publisher.
Mehmet Zeki Doğan, who settled in Switzerland after his acquittal, met with readers with his novel Tepetaklak as part of the work he completed in prison conditions.
